Indian, ethnic decor idea or curios or artefacts or sculptures. Metal craft and specifically craft and sculpture made of brass, copper and bronze go back a long, long way in India- all the way to the Indus Valley Civilization.
The discovery of the small bronze statuette of a dancing girl at the ancient site of Mohenjo-Daro in Central India testifies to the antiquity of Indian metal crafts 5000 years ago. Another famous early reference to metal craft is the 80 ft high Buddha statue in copper in a town called Nalanda in early 7th Century by Chinese traveller Hiuen Tsang.
From this great lineage of work on metals comes this piece in white metal- "Tribal Wedding Band 2": In Indian tradition a wedding is not complete without musicians- a two or four piece band that accompanies the wedding ceremony and ritual at various stages. Depicting this is this pair of tribal musicians handcrafted in white metal and wood. This is Bastar brass & metal art that uses the lost wax technique of the Bastar tribes from Central India- a tribal art and craft form followed for generations.
Indian brass art serves as interesting pieces of art curios in homes, the world over. This one would be a beautiful piece on your coffee table or on your fireplace or curio shelf in your home. And would make a great conversational piece when your visitors ask” What’s that?” or “Hey..Where did you get that?”
How about welcoming a piece of art that has 5000 years of ancestry to it.

India’s textile, fabric, art and craft traditions go down centuries- the talent of the craftsman and his dedication to his craft, passed on from one generation to another. A weave, a mix of colors, a design or a motif, a print, a piece of applique work- each a labor of love for the artisan, in giving birth to his creation.
Artikrti’s [meaning 'artistic creations'] mission is to take the fascinating kaleidoscope that is India and get the world outside to experience it. And add a stroke of beauty that’s different, to each woman’s life- to her personal beauty and her home.
