Description

Ganesha brass ornament: Metal craft and specifically craft and sculpture made of brass, copper and bronze go back a long, long way in India- all the way to the Indus Valley Civilization.

The discovery of the small bronze statuette of a dancing girl at the ancient site of Mohenjo-Daro in Central India testifies to the antiquity of Indian metal crafts 5000 years ago. Another famous early reference to metal craft is the 80 ft high Buddha statue in copper in a town called Nalanda in early 7th Century by Chinese traveller Hiuen Tsang.

From this great lineage of work on metals comes this piece in brass- Ganesha, uniquely given that anodized, black finish all over except for the face. Vinayaka OR Ganesha OR Ganapati, the elephant trunk sporting God in Indian mythology is believed to be the God of Wisdom and the Remover of Obstacles or the God of Success. Hence he is symbolic of all good things that we want to happen in our lives.

This work of art in brass is a modern rendition of Ganesha or Buddinath as he is also known. Buddhinath means God of Wisdom. Bring home this Ganesha or gift it to a friend for wisdom or for just the touch of contemporary ethnic touch to the decor.

Spread that aura of "enlightenment" & "ethnic chic".

A weave, a mix of colors, a design or a motif, a print, a piece of applique work- each a labor of love for the artisan, in giving birth to his creation.
