Wall tapestries. Indian Wall Hanging Fabric Wall Hanging. Woven wall hanging.Quilted wall hanging. Textile wall hanging tapestry. Artikrti.
Description
This handmade piece of work is from Tamilnadu, the home of silk weaving in South India. Wall tapestry at its luxurious best. It is sunset silk for your walls.
This all silk extravaganza starts at its inner core with a square of yellow that is a mix of marigold yellow and mustard. On this square the embroidery and beadwork take on a free flowing random set of waves and curves, ending up in cute mangoes. Surrounding this piece of art estate is a border of red zari work that is an intricate piece of craftsmanship by itself. Just the zari can be an artistic piece. Hugging this all around is a stunning red silk, in turn smothered by the resplendent artikrti orange. Just one word for the ensemble- wow!
A dramatic twist to the décor in your living room or family room or up-on-the-wall above the staircase or right there on your center-table.
A great gift for a new home, a house-warming party or a newly wedded couple or for an anniversary or for just that moment of indulgence when you have that urge to give in to some extravaganza.

India’s textile & fabric traditions go down centuries- the talent of the craftsman and her dedication to her craft, passed on from one generation to another. A weave, a mix of colors, a design or a motif, a print, a piece of applique work- each a labor of love for the artisan, in giving birth to her creation.
Artikrti’s [meaning 'artistic creations'] mission is to take the fascinating kaleidoscope that is India and get the world outside to experience it. And add a stroke of beauty that’s different, to each woman’s life- to her personal beauty and her home.
Thank you for dropping by. In true Indian tradition, we hope your visit to Artikrti was a pleasurable one and we do hope to see you again in the future.
The fine print:
Measures 50” by 50” approx.
Handwoven fabrics tend to have a thread here or a thread there, which is sticking out or uneven. That is not deemed a defect. It is a mark of the painstakingly difficult art of creating a piece of work, purely by the handmade process. The same goes for complex embroidery, beadwork, mirror work and sequins work, where a bead or sequin may be missing or a tiny mirror's edge may be chipped. Again, not a defect please. That tiny slip of the hand will be so minute and will not take an atom away from the stunning beauty of the piece.
Only the wall hanging. Rod, hangers, plant, center table, glass bowl not included.:)
Colors may vary from the digital photograph above
