Description

Ethnic Indian art- painting print. Art & home decor inspired by kolam or rangoli. And inspired thought woven into art for the home. Part of the Diya or Lamp series from Artikrti, this digital work of art is inspired by the play of kola or rangoli and diyas in Indian homes for both aesthetics and faith oriented rituals.

Kolam, a tradition that has its origins some 5000 years back, involves drawing motifs on the floor with rice powder to feed birds and insects. Embellished with colors from vegetable dyes, flowers and lamps it is symbolic of your care & sense of charity even to the insects, expressive of your faith to Lakshmi, the Goddess of Prosperity and a mark of welcome to those visiting your home. Drawn every day at dawn, at the entrance to a home by the lady of the home after her bath the kolam or wrangle is a geometric folk art form that has inspired this first in the Diya series, titled 'Mind's Eye'.

Mind's Eye is an amalgam of expressions- of the diya and the kola and Robin Sharma's line on how one can light up your mind and dream of what you want out of your life first and then go on to becoming the architect of creating it in real life.

The artful expression or the kolam, diya and the quote bring together the purpose of bringing 'Inspired Thought into Art for the Home'.

Apt for the living room or the study or the yoga room or studio this makes a great gift for a house-warming or just to aesthetically add some color, chic and good thought into the decor for your home.
